NFPA 70E - 2009

This training will focus on NFPA 70E-2009 “Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace,” The NFPA 70E standard, which has been updated for 2009, addresses electrical safety requirements for employee workplaces that are necessary for the practical safeguarding of employees. The standard covers the installation of electric conductors and electric equipment not specifically under the exclusive control of the electric utility. This includes all building and facility maintenance not associated with the generation, transmission or distribution of electric power. 

Although generation facilities are not specifically covered, many generation facilities throughout the US have successfully used parts of this standard to ensure safe work practices. The presenter will address NFPA 70E applications in generation facilities and other utility building and facilities maintenance programs.
