Electric utilities can no longer afford to disregard possible arc hazards or post arc events.
Electric utilities can no longer afford to disregard possible arc hazards or post arc events. Proactive utilities evaluate electrical systems and equipment and develop processes to minimize and/or eliminate arc hazards before an incident occurs. Processes include, as a minimum, engineering controls, development of safe work practices and PPE (personal protective equipment). This session will review current arc flash regulations and give some basic methodology to ensure arc flash hazards are minimized and/or eliminated. Methods will be taught to effectively develop engineering controls, , administrative controls, work practices and personal protective equipment to mitigate arc flash potential.
Class time – 1 day
This course is designed for all utility personnel who need information regarding arc flash conditions and abatement.
